All ice is Sundays 4:00 – 5:30pm at Riverside Arena. First ~50 – 60 minutes is skill work. Sessions will focus on mix of skating, puck control, battling & puck protection skills. The last ~20 minutes will be a cross-ice or half ice scrimmage. For cross-ice games, players will be split into equal teams based on age/ability.
Players are allowed to pick and choose dates they would like to attend with quantity discounts available. Sign up form will list all available dates. Any date/time not listed on sign up form has been filled.
No ice Thanksgiving week & weekend, February Break Week, Christmas Break weeks or Super Bowl Sunday. See below for exact schedule of dates.

WHO IS IT FOR?
–
NO BEGGINERS PLEASE! This is not a beginner learn to skate or hockey introduction beginners’ program. Players should be able to hockey stop, crossover, skate backwards, stickhandle a puck, perform basic edges drills and good ability to follow directions/instructions on the ice. They do not have to be able to perform those skills perfectly but should have some ability to perform all those basics. This program is not appropriate for players below that level of ability.

Flexible Player Sign Up!
Players are able to pick and choose the sessions they would like to attend as well as any combination of sessions. Discounts are offered based on number of sessions chosen. See above for discounts and costs. If a date does not show up on the sign-up form, it means it has been filled. Sign up form is at the VERY bottom of the page.

Family Multi-Player Discounts!
Families signing up multiple players up for skill sessions can add the total number of sessions signing up for together. This will get them to per session discounted rates faster. Example if a family has 2 players and sign each up for 6 sessions for a total of 12 sessions, the cost of each is $26/session and not $27/session.

Sign Ups Add Together Throughout Season!
If you sign your player(s) up for sessions to start the season and then decide to add more later sessions later and it puts you into another discount tier then that new discounted rate would apply to all sessions, even if some dates have already passed. This new discount would be considered on the new total. Example, if you original signed your player up for 8 sessions ($27/session, $216 total) and then add 8 more sessions at another time, it would now be 16 total sessions ($25/session, $400 total – $216 previous paid = $184 balance).
Note, the adding together of sessions only lasts for that season of dates and resets each new season. In addition, if a player cancels sessions, then the cost per session would revert to whatever discount tier is appropriate per session.

Payments for all programs/sessions signed up for September – December are due in full by October 1st. Payments for all programs January – April are due in full by January 1st.

Players cancelling more than 7 days in advance of the scheduled session automatically can move the session to another open date or receive a credit for the cost of that specific session to use to any program we have at any time. If less cancelling less than 7 days prior to a session Mark Zarbo Hockey has to be able to find a player to replace your player’s spot to be able to move or issue a credit. We do not credit for cancels less then 24 hours in advance of a skills session, unless the player is able to find their own spot replacement. Players are allowed to find their own replacement at any time to receive credit and is very much appreciated. If a player finds their own replacement, they must contact Mark Zarbo Hockey and inform them of the change. This policy is adopted due to these skill sessions being small numbers of players and includes cancellations due to sickness or injury.

Please note that with winter weather, sessions are only cancelled if the rink is closed and/or a driving ban is in place for the city or town the rink is located. If a session is ever cancelled by Mark Zarbo Hockey, all players in that session will be contacted directly as well as the cancellation posted on social media. Any cancelled sessions by Mark Zarbo Hockey would constitute a refund or credit to that player. A player missing a schedule session due to weather would not constitute a refund or credit unless it adheres to the cancellation policy above.
Please note that Nichols Rink & Nichols School are separate entities. If Nichols cancels school, it does not mean the rink is closed. Most rinks only close if there is a travel ban in place in the town/city they are located. Travel safely and at your own risk!
