Defense Skills Camp

4-day Defense Skills Program. Squirt (2014 & 2015), Pewee (2012 & 2013), Bantam (2010 & 2011) & Midget (2007, 2008, 2009) groups available. See below for detailed description for each age group & schedule.

COST:

$375/player

**$340 discounted rate for players in a main program (Hockey IQ, Midget Program)

LEVEL:

AAA/High End AA players.

**We are assuming players will possess a certain level of skills and offensive IQ prior to attending. Our goal is to build off that base level the player already possess.

TRAINING HOURS:

12 hours on ice (3 hour per day)

4 hours classroom (1 hour per day)

16 TOTAL TRAINING HOURS

**No partial sign ups accepted! Players must sign up for full program!

AGE GROUP SCHEDULE:

Bantam (2010, 2011) & Midget (2007, 2008, 2009) = July 15th – July 18th, Holiday Rinks

Squirt (2014, 2015) & Pewee (2012, 2013) = August 12th – August 15th, Holiday Rinks

Squirt Defense Program (2014, 2015 AAA/AA)

The purpose of this camp is to focus on foundational defensive skills. At its core defenseman must be able to defend, create stops, transition the puck to offense or keep an offensive sequence going.

Skills addressed: Defensive Skating, Defending in Defensive Zone, Rush Defensive Skills, Angling, Gap Control, Puck Retrievals & Beating F1 (Defensive & Neutral Zone), Use of the Net Against Forecheckers, Backwards Lateral Movement NZ & Introduction to Offensive Blue Line Skills (beating player 1 v 1 from blue line). Secondarily, in compete drills, all players will take reps at the forward position as well. We will address skills associated to those situations at the forward position for offensive understanding & practice, but our main focus is defensive side!

Pewee Defense Program (2012, 2013 AAA/AA)

As defenseman start to move up in age in level they must understand how to work together as a unit of 2, support & communicate with each other as well as further chipping in offensively and all reads associated with those situations.

Skills addressed: Puck Retrievals & Beating F1 (Defense & Neutral Zone), Use of the Net Against Forecheckers, Weakside Defenseman Support & jumping into rush, Regrouping Skills, Breakout Skills, Backwards Lateral Movement NZ, Offensive Zone Rotations & Beating a player 1 v 1 from Blue Line. Secondarily, in compete drills, all players will take reps at the forward position as well. We will address skills associated to those situations at the forward position for offensive understanding & practice, but our main focus is defensive side!

Bantam Defense Program (2010, 2011 AAA/AA)

By this age players should have fair understanding and ability to execute foundational skills. The purpose of this program is to introduce and focus on more advanced concepts and skills building off their foundational skills. How do I sign up for programs?!

To sign-up for programs, please fill out the form below.  Sign-ups are ONLY accepted by filling out form below.

Step #1:  Fill out parent/guardian contact information.

Step #2:  Select how many players you are wanting to sign up for programs.  After selecting desired number of players wanting to sign up, that number of requested player sign-up forms will appear.

Step #3:  Fill out your player’s information.

Step #4:  Check mark the box next to all programs wanting to sign the player up for.  After check marking the box next to programs interested in, further information for that program will appear.  Follow directions for each program to complete sign up.

Repeat step #3 – 4 for the desired amount players wanting to sign up.

After filling out and submitting sign-up form you will re-directed to a new page to fill out liability waiver.  In addition, you will receive an email receipt of your sign-up form with copy of your sign up, invoice and payment information.  Please make sure to double check, save and print out this email receipt for your records.  You are responsible for all dates signed up for.

YOU CAN SIGN UP MULTIPLE PLAYERS AND/OR MULTIPLE PROGRAMS ALL ON 1 SIGN UP FORM.  NO NEED TO FILL OUT MULTIPLE SIGN FORMS FOR DIFFERENT PROGRAMS OR PLAYERS. THE SIGN-UP FORM BELOW LISTS ALL PROGRAMS FOR SUMMER 2024, NOT JUST THE PROGRAM DETAILED ON THIS PAGE.
