About Spring/Summer Programs

At Mark Zarbo Hockey our mission is to provide players of all ages & skill levels all-around development programs, flexible scheduling, affordable prices/incentives & best in class training. Players will not find another program that is able to provide all of those parameters at the level Mark Zarbo Hockey does in the WNY/Buffalo area.

We have designed our spring & summer programs to offer players training in all parts of the game and the ability to pick and choose programs and sessions so they can design a personalized program that fits their individual needs or schedule.

Our main spring programs include the Mite Development Programs, Hockey IQ Development Programs, Girls ONLY! Programs and Midget Development Programs.

Players signed up for one the main programs are offered extensive discounts to round out their summer training.  These include discounts for:

• Discount for 3 v 3 Summer league ($185/player—normally $220/player–$15/hr ice – 16% discount)
• Discount for Small Group Skill Sessions ($17/session flat rate—normally $25/single session– 32% discount)
• Discount to Body Contact, Battling & Checking Camps ($125/player–normally $150/player– 17% discount)
• Discount to our Squirt & Pewee Defense Skills Camps ($345– normally $380/player – 10% discount)
• Discount to our Bantam & Midget 4 Day Hockey IQ Camps ($345 – normally $380/player – 10% discount)
• Discount to our Offensive Skills & Scoring Camp ($345– normally $380/player – 10% discount)
• Discount to our Skating & Edge Work Camps ($125– normally $150/player – 17% discount)–

Players also have the ability to sign up for any program separately without being in main program.  Players signing up for Small Group Skill Sessions are able to pick and choose as many or few dates as they choose.  Players not in a main program are eligible for generous quantity discounts depending on how many sessions chosen.

Overall, our mission is to offer players the ability to make a summer program that fits their individual needs, scheduling flexibility and reasonable cost.

Example:  A player signed up for Hockey IQ Development Program, 3 v 3 Cross-ice League and 15 Skill Sessions comes to 42 total hours of on-ice training. Normally this would be $855 total value ($20.35/hr ice) but after applying discounts total is $790 ($65 savings with a price per hour of $18.80/hour ice!) This includes all the supplied video lessons, access to Hockey IQ Video Database, breakdown of game film (Hockey IQ Program), Pixellot Video Analytics account & Mark Zarbo Hockey jersey!

Mini Mite Skills & Scrimmage Program

• 2019, 2020 birth years
• 10 total practices, Mondays 4:45 – 6:00pm, April 21 – April 30, Holiday Rinks
• Only 24 total players
• Day #1, players will perform a basic skating timed test. From this test we will split the players into 4 groups (6 players per group) based on times. This ensures players are grouped with the other players closest to them in ability and level.
• Practice sessions will introduce and focus on basic edge work, skating and puck/stickhandling skills.
• Basic practice plan is warmup drill/game, followed by 4 skill stations and finish with 20-minute 3 v 3 game each practice.
• NEW! Option to add 2nd day this year. Thursday Mite Games & Competition based day.
• Players signed up eligible for discount to play in our 3 v 3 Summer league ($185/player—normally $220/player–$15/hr ice)
• Jersey provided
• This is not a beginner learn to skate or hockey introduction beginners’ program. Players must be able to skate already (no walkers), push/skate with both feet and have ability to skate with the puck. Players should have at least 1 year experience from a beginner hockey program and show good ability to follow directions/instruction on the ice. This program is not appropriate for players below that level of ability.

Mite Skills Development Program

• 10 total practices, Tuesdays 4:45 – 5:45pm and/or 5:45 – 6:45pm, April 22 – June 24, Holiday Rinks
• Players have option to sign up for both or 1 of Tuesday groups
• Players are split into 4 small groups based on age and skill level.  Each session is 4 stations focusing on a mix of all skills.
• NEW! Option to add 2nd day this year. Thursday Games & Competition based day.

3 v 3 Cross-Ice Development League

• Mini Mite (2019, 2020), Mite (2017, 2018), Squirt (2015, 2016), Pewee (2013, 2014), Bantam (2011, 2012), Midget (2007 – 2010) Age Groups
  • Divisions are made for each age group based on birth year and level of play.
• 8 game days (April – June)
  • Saturdays. April 26. May 3, 10, 17, 31. June 7, 21, 28.
  • Game times released once sign up and divisions completed
  • Teams play 2– 30-minute games each ice time
  • 14 regular season games, 2 playoffs
  • 1-minute timed shifts, change on the horn to ensure equal ice time
• Teams consist of 9 players & 1 goalie
  • Mark Zarbo Hockey Staff coach teams
  • Players sign up as an individual and teams made after sign-up is complete

Skating & Edge Work Skill Sessions

• Full ice 16 players, 2 coach small group sessions
• AAA/AA travel level players.
• Friday mornings at Holiday Twin Rinks July – August
• Sessions will focus edge work, skating mechanics, overspeed/quickness & puck control skills. Each hour is a different focus. Players are allowed to do back-to-back hours!
• NEW! We have added a Backward focused skating hour for each age group.
• Player’s pick and choose the dates they want to attend. Spots are first come first serve.

How do I sign up for programs?!

–

To sign-up for programs, please fill out the form below.  Sign ups are ONLY accepted by filling out form below and no longer accepted by emails, phone calls or text messages.

Step #1:  Fill out parent/guardian contact information and select how many players you are wanting to sign up for programs.  After selecting desired number of players wanting to sign up, that number of requested player sign-up forms will appear.

Step #2:  Fill out player information and check mark the box next to all programs wanting to sign the player up for.  After check marking the box next to programs interested in, further information for that program will appear.  Follow directions for each program to complete sign up.  Repeat step #2 for the desired amount players wanting to sign up.

After filling out and submitting sign-up form you will re-directed to a new page to fill out liability waiver.  In addition, you will receive an email receipt of your sign-up form with copy of your sign up, invoice and payment information.  Please make sure to double check, save and print out this email receipt for your records.  You are responsible for all dates signed up for.
