Mark Zarbo Hockey will be hosting its 2nd annual 3 v 3 Cross-Ice Ice Breaker Tournament! This is a great way to kick off a season or make your own team with friends! Anyone can enter a team!

These are 1-day tournaments. Meaning the whole tournament will take place start to finish in the same day!

Teams are guaranteed minimum of 4 games (3 round robin, 1 playoff) with a maximum of 6 games. Game are 30-minutes in length (2- 15-minute running time periods).

Teams are allowed a maximum of 9 players, 2 goalies, 2 coaches. Coaches are allowed to stand on ice with the team but MUST wear skates and helmet if choosing to do so. If choosing not to go on ice, coaches can stand on benches.

Due to Rink #2 in Holiday Twin Rinks being shut down for summer, the tournament will be held at Leisure Rinks this year!

Tournament Information

  • 1 Day Tournament
  • 4 Game Guarantee, 6 Game Maximum. 3 Round Robin, 1 Playoff Game minimum!

  • Line changes on the fly! No horn to change!
  • Penalties are penalty shots taken right away at time of infraction!
  • 1 Referee and 1 scorekeeper provided per game

Cost & Sign Up Options

Enter your own team!

  • $430 Team Entry Fee
    • 9 Skaters, 2 Goalies and 2 coach Maximum roster per team
      • If your team needs help finding players or a goalie let us know!
    • 10 players = only $43 each
    • Guaranteed 4 games total!
    • Coach can either stand on bench or go on ice and stand with players. Coach MUST wear helmet and skates if on ice.
    • Teams must provide their own jerseys! If questions on jerseys don’t hesitate to ask!


  • If you are entering your own team, the team fee does NOT include jerseys.  Jerseys do NOT need to have numbers on the back but MUST be matching.
    • Teams should have 2 jerseys or a jersey. If team jerseys are close in color, then the away team must change or be prepared to wear pinnies for that game (we have pinnies)!
    • If your team needs jerseys let us know and we can put you in contact with a supplier!

Sign Up & Payment Deadlines

  • To sign up a team use sign up form below! We are currently not accepting individual player sign ups, only team sign ups!
  • If your team needs players/goalie let us know and we can help find players to round out your team!

  • Teams have until July 10th to accept or decline tournament entry.  Payments are due July 10th.  Team cancellations after July 10th are non-refundable!
  • Rosters are due 1 week prior to tournament. Team roster includes player name, birth year, current team, level of play.
  • Team payments must be ONE payment of $430.  We will not collect money from each individual player. Payments can be made by cash, check (send to PO Box 41, GI, NY 14072) or Venmo @Mark-Zarbo. We do accept credit cards but there is a 3% transaction fee. To use credit card just ask!

Individual Sign Up

NOTE! Our sign-up form gives the option to sign as an individual. Filling out the form as an individual player does NOT guarantee you the ability to play. We are collecting individual sign ups so when team’s need a few players or goalies to round out their rosters, we can provide them with a list of those interested to contact. Best way to guarantee a chance to play in the tournament is put together and enter your own team!
